12/10/2009 -- This was a very nice property and the cabana was very useful. I would certainly consider staying in this condo again in the future.

Family Vacation
12/10/2009 -- I forwarded an email back in July/August regarding our family vacation at Windemere, but had no reply. Our stay in the above mentioned condo itself was fine. We had some a/c issues, and a leak under the kitchen sink both were taken care of in a timely manner.
However, the second day of our stay our daughter was injured in the bar-b-que pit area and our trip wasn't what we wanted it to be. At the time she injured her foot it was in the late afternoon. She and my husband were taking meat to the grill for dinner. I remembered that day making a statement that the walkway (stepping blocks) were too far apart and slippery. Also, I thought to myself that it was pretty dangerous for small children. My daughter's flip flop slipped off of one of the cement blocks and the top of her foot came down the side of the block which was very sharp. She lacerated her big toe from the tip to the bend pulling back a serious amount of skin and tissue.
She bled profusiously and it was very paniful. Thank God we knew some of our friends from home were staying at the Spanish Key. He was a doctor and immediately treated her for a flapback wound. We managed to carry her to the beach, but she couldn't go in the water or walk on it for the remainder of our stay. We hope the bar-b-que area could be revamped or paved so that this may never happen to someone again. It could have been her head or another area much more critical. We also had some parking issues. One evening we went out to dinner and desert. We arrived back at the Condo around 10:00. There was not a parking space to be found. We drove around, looked for a security guard, and went to the office. NO ONE was there to help.A lady and guest who was staying at the Windemere was standing out front, she said her husband was told he had to park at the Windixie parking lot and walk back to the Windemere. Needless to say we were very upset. We had one car,and an injured person, we did not want to walk miles. Parking Bad!"
